Apex Legends

Oh yeah, the enemies know you are pinging, but it’s still nice to get some jump on it. I do wish it was stealth, though.

The smoke sight is very nice, yes.

If you will buy me a computer that can run it, sure.

Anyone on PC around tonight at around, say, 10 PM Central time? gonna give this game a shot

Everything I have ever seen of Rainbow Six Siege looks like the least appealing progression of Counter-Strike. Nothankyou.

go on

Siege is wonderful but the learning curve is even longer than this game so it’s hard for me to play it w/ friends because they get intimidated almost immediately!

i’ll be around if you wanna play

nice i will hit you up on discord!!!

No that’s it.

OK is bloodhound actually nb or did they just use they in that tiny bio on the website because “their true identity is unknown”. I’m v sus ppl are giving these dudes way too much credit for doing absolutely nothing with the character stuff

in a way isn’t the working expectation that we give a ton of credit for doing very little, because surface-level representation is actually what people are after in a shooter or something like that which otherwise really doesn’t have anything to do with genderthings but which we nevertheless want to reflect less of a monoculture?

like I agree that the discourse can seem effusive/arbitrary without that expectation but I’m not sure what more there is for them to do

I see Bloodhound as being at least as much about ambiguous nationality, with their unplaceable accent. Bloodhound doesn’t need citizenship nor gender because those are both about one’s relationship with society, and they just survive in the wild. And I also think that’s a reaction to Overwatch (and indirectly Street Fighter) with those games having characters who are just stock stereotypes of their country of origin.

If that’s the perspective then surely the least we can expect is some clarity. It is clear Gibraltar is gay because they mention his boyfriend. It is not clear to me that bloodhound is nb as opposed to just “a mysterious figure”

First reply to the first tweet is some asshat trying to argue against non-binary folk and Twitter can just burn, y’all.

Okay, sorry for not elaborating before.

R6 Siege feels a lot like Counter-Strike when I watch it played, in that it favours incredibly skilled & technical play in a setting that is super-serious and a bit too close to the real world for me to feel comfortable.

Apex Legends at least lets me be a fantasy robot person, just like Overwatch let me be a dwarf with the ability to be productive.

I think from Bloodhound’s perspective they reject identity and refuse to be slotted into any particular category, even “NB”.

Siege also does not have Grapple Boy

I saw some grappling when Giant Bomb played it a while back, and it bugged out in a fun way.
