I think this was announced already. Singularity/Metroid Prime mesh
this is like some kind of co-op dungeon crawler? shown elsewhere but looked kinda neat
I feel like indie devs need to reconcile addiction/dopamine as talking points when they’re marketing their next roguelike deck builder.
this one looks in the realm of like psx horror or Inscryption etc
i couldn’t tell you what makes one of these spooky alt desktop games better vs. others but this one was already on my wishlist
Another standout
the previous one of these has gotten a lot of hype from various people i know/streamers etc, so probably worth checking out
this is also happening shortly i suppose
tbh tho i already dug through the steam lists of games that were on these streams so i don’t have to watch the streams in the background too much
this one by some former NYU grads is i think in the Women led one
Finally, Delicious in Dungeon-likes
this one was in the women led showcase - posting because i like ball games
also obligated to post yet another horror themed alt desktop game
and this one looks like decent psx horror
and this one makes me feel warm feelings like i’m indie games world circa like 2012 again
and cute character animation in this one
I have been seeing like…this shattered happiness about the Sony junket. Like Sony didn’t deliver the goods, or maybe the love of video games has died etc.
I skipped through it and thought if I want to play those games I don’t need to pay 80 dollars or indeed have a playstation 5 (I do.) if I wanted to play Asassin’s Creed 2 or Batman Arkham Asylum or Grand Theft Auto IV, those are games that have been around for 15 years. These new giant budget games are the same game folks. You are free to not spend 70 dollars on them. Life is about new and exciting experiences and maybe the answer to your happiness does not lie in the chance to play wolverine and needing to get to the way point, or an action sequel to Control with loot boxes or JPop Yokai Hunters.
70 bucks can buy you a lot of fun if you are creative.
This post brought to you by me watching the trailer for some racing game and going “Or I could play Sleeping Dogs, a game that is only one 3rd cars. And is 15 years old. And I like it.”
The only positive reaction I’ve seen to the playstation direct is for Ace Combat, and even that is mostly “Well, I’m not sure about how it looks, but they’re ~saying the right things~”
I am all the positive reaction anyone needs
I Trust In Cube
I played the Desktop Explorer demo last week and I thought it was a pretty good version of this sort of game, some of the secrets/solutions remind me of the old web-based puzzle sites from the turn of the century while also at times leaning into a sort of “oh my, spooky~” direction to keep you off balance in terms of how one approaches solving things.
going to be steadily updating this in the next few days but: here’s my youtube playlist of trailers of games that have been shown in one of this year’s streams that look even a bit interesting to me if any of you want to scroll through
God of War Laufey
woah, pretty dramatic departure for the series but I loved this album so consider me curious
