Nintendo fans will spend then next month perform auguries and haruspices to determine the date of the next “general direct.” A week after Star Fox comes out, they will announce a Partner Showcase or Indie World presentation with only 48 hours of notice. A couple of the games will look like the sickest stuff you’ve ever seen, but you wouldn’t know from talking with a Nintendo fan because they’ll be disappointed that the rumored Gyromite reboot from Ubisoft wasn’t announced there.
Two weeks later, Nintendo will announce a “Metroid Direct” with less than a hour of notice. Yoshio Sakamoto will appear, and state that the last thing he wants before retiring is to have his successors at EPD7 release “Super Metroid Pixel Remaster.” Fans will not shut up about the 2 second clip that appears to show Samus shortcharging.
