I thought about flattening out most of the cliffs and building Japanese rock gardens and hot springs everywhere but itās too tedious to do tile by tile. Also some bugs and fish only spawn at higher elevations.
I knew that for fish, didnāt know it was the case for bugs!
Yea, I definitely want some cliffs, just having trouble figuring out what shape they should be, and how to redesign the rivers, where to put ponds. I wish the game had a sandbox mode, something akin to the āimaginationā feature they have for smaller bits, where I could start shaping things.
I found this: Happy Island Designer
Which helps a bit, but itās still just a top-down thing that gives a general idea, I donāt get to see how it actually will look.
Yeah I was totally wrong there, only happens for fish.
can i just say that i feel like yāall are the only group of people i know who arenāt trying to min/max this game, and I appreciate it? One of the people at work said that they put down and picked up the same piece of fence 100 times just to get the nook points and iām like
why
why even play the game
I mean, play games how you want to, itās no big deal, but that seems to be the mentality for like 50% of the people I know playing this game, and Iām just glad to be hanging out with people who make dresses out of turnip bags or design weird beaches for smoking cigarettes and hiding playboys. yāall rule.
A+ theming, if i was with the HHA i would definitely award ONE MILLION points
Yea, Iām surprised the editor is so lax about what it lets you do, given its purpose is to help you figure things within the confines of the game? I would have assumed thereās a more restricted editor out there to make things easier, but I canāt find any such thing.
had a huck move out and traded him for henry so just a lateral smug frog swap
i have one of each character type (i think this might affect the diys they give you?) but like three different uchis. my island is pretty big sistered up
i finally caught a blue marlin but i still need that tuna before the end of the month
Wanna say they only spawn near the docks? Good luck!
I would pay Nintendoā¦$2 for a DLC pocket knife that lets ya just gut clams on the spot to make bait.
Just let the clams stack at the very least!
I understand the people making AC are trying to thread a very delicate needle with interface simplicity, but oh my god, when Iām crafting 12 pieces of bait why canāt I jut tell it to make me 12. Iāll even sit through the animation for 12x if necessary, just let me stop selecting it!
I keep reminding myself that Animal Crossing is not meant to be efficient. They gave us the ability to run, but all the mechanics prefer walking: running scares off fish and most bugs, it damages flowers, it even used to damage the grass itself in the old games before folks complained. Tom Nookās backstory is that of a guy who went to the city to live faster and get richer, and it nearly ruined everything. Whenever the game makes something cumbersome like making bait, I try to focus on whatever seems to be the point of slowing down and doing things deliberately. Sometimes I am more successful at this than other times.
i respect the iyashikei/healing/slow life philosophy of animal crossing but the sims came out 20 years ago homie why i gotta buy clothes one outfit at a time by walking back into the dressing room over and over and wait two calendar days to move a bridge one square over itās not meditative itās just a pain
Iāve had better luck catching the ādockā fish from the random islandsā seaplane docks rather than the pier on the home island.
the actual currency of Animal Crossing is number of controller interactions, slowly filling invisible irl annoyance tolerance gauge, devs inventing workplace acceptable edging fetish out of boredom, etc.
Found Sherb hanging out with my turtle Krankor this morning
Reading him stories
He also shared this with me about my new house renovations
The deer villagers are so cute
