ANIMAL HARVEST

I haven’t touched my switch in ages, but everyone talking about AC is now making me jealous, and I’m seriously considering making this my third console game purchase ever as an adult, after SSBU and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

If only it were possible to get Switch game licences for cheap off of sketchy reseller websites, like with Steam.

It’s really cool how so many of you have captured your own likenesses with your characters.

Need more selfies!

i dont think ive posted my friend code yet but its SW-4698-1964-8770 okay?

Didn’t realize not eating fruit means u can not destroy/get more resources out of rock…big game changer for me & my island currently empty of rocks

also a good idea to dig holes behind you before you hit a rock to avoid knockback

this explains a lot cuz i was like…30 ore?? On my 2-rock a day island???

if you are on the second day or later you can use a nook miles ticket which will take you to a random island full of extra resources to strip mine. there’s usually some extra rocks there too

I’m kind of enjoying the super slow run-up in the start of this game. Crafting and gathering resources is extremely motivating when it means I’m essentially constructing the game around me.

I think the goal stuff works for me generally since it’s not like Animal Crossing hasn’t always been filled with this stuff from the Home Loan itself to like, the HHA, museum or the town projects in New Leaf, etc.
But there’s little stuff I find a bit diminutive about it, like getting a ā€œgoal completeā€ after helping a visitor or shooting down a balloon and having a little text that says something like ā€œWe don’t know who’s sending these gifts to our island, but it’s good to shoot them down and enjoy what’s insideā€
I mean this point, four games in, nobody’s going to be surprised by the use of the slingshot but it feels like a negative to me just having flavor text that sort of narrows the possible context of these bizarre gifts floating above (am i being mischevious? am i stealing from some sort of animal fed-ex? is this a gift from god?)

I tried to make a beard out of the pattern face paint at first and it… Did not work.

We had a big party at Toups’s place! Lots of fruit exchanging, ocarina playing, and leaf umbrella-twirling. I didn’t realize you could shake trees multiple times to get multiple branches!

i didn’t realize you could get iron without breaking the rocks so i too initially destroyed every rock but also I’ve just been ticking to the next day with the system clock whenever i’m done with stuff to do i don’t care about rules i still only have like 20 iron nugs

Y’all in need of iron, take trips to random islands. They’ll usually have four rocks or so, and by bracing yourself with holes or trees, you can get eight hits on each, plus the extra stone from eating and then breaking the rock. I took three trips today, and I easily collected enough to start Nook’s Cranny construction, plus a complete set of non-flimsy tools.

This has been a chill godsend to have a weekend of not thinking about things out of my control.

No doubt. I woke up in the middle of the night with pretty bad anxiety, and this game was that calming beacon I needed.
