how is this for folk who usually binge animal crossing for a few days and never return? very tempted to get into this one
Theres are more incentives to keep playing regularly, because you essentially have to unlock everything that you take for granted in the earlier games, music, museum etc. I think online gives it some legs but i haven’t touched it yet.

This game is so relaxing. It’s so easy to just… enjoy being in it.
I thought this would be fun to play with my partner, who does not care much for videogames outside of some beloved NES touchstones and Fortune Street. But this is cute and she and I both enjoy cute things and I had great memories of playing the Gamecube one with my roommates 15 years ago, so I decided to give it a go. I figured we’d play for like an hour or two both yesterday and today.
We’ve been playing almost exclusively in 2-player mode, with her typically leading. We put in 6 or 7 hours yesterday and 3 and a half today. She is into collecting bugs and fish in a way I never would have guessed and I love it so much (things like filling out bestiaries never have been terribly compelling for me, but her enthusiasm is rubbing off on me).
I just enjoy being on our island. I really wish the 2-player was more robust, but switching is easy, and there’s something thoroughly enjoyable and blissful about running around on the same screen together.
For me, I think the thing I like the most is listening to the leaves rustling in the wind

yesss this, it’s just pleasing to be on the same screen, kind of in the same way it was pleasing to have a 3D avatar in the 90’s as a kid even though it looked like garbage. just having that physical presence, even if does not amount to meaningful interaction, does something pleasant to my brain

How are y’all getting your screenshots off the Switch? Are you posting to Twitter, downloading, and then uploading to the forum, or are you using the Switch browser itself to upload somehow?
I think you can copy them to an SD card if you insert one? I’m taking pics of the TV screen with my phone.
