I had to bug @ticky to use her credit card to get some of those AU region vouchers the last time I felt like buying a switch game at full price because they’re actually a very reasonable deal compared to the alternatives (there are no alternatives in most regions)
this one I just broke out my US credit card for so it felt a little less like highway robbery
you should be able to at least preorder zelda in the next year if you need a use for it
I forget where else I said this but if you’re an American with Strong Freedom Fiat Currency, amazon.jp has the game for 5850y, which is about 41 bucks or so (the secret to buying digital goods on amazon.jp is finding one of those proxy sites that hand out free addresses and using that)
oh my god the AUD is like at parity with 100 yen. that doesn’t happen often. still not really a huge saving for me but this is good news for weebs who want a hobonichi techo for next year (me)
As someone who never got into Splatoons 1 or 2 it’s kind of funny how little this game tells you about itself out the gate. It’s kind of fun getting to learn about stuff like the card game existing from friends talking about it but also I’m just wondering how much I’m missing out on.
I made a beeline to level 4 yesterday to unlock the shops and Salmon Run and then just played runs all night because I didn’t want to deal with regular matches while the playerbase is mostly Japanese and Australian and somehow I’m already sitting at Profreshional +2
there were a bunch of pictochat style “because the queen died, we have splatoon 3!” messages in the lobby yesterday and I kept reading them with the exact cadence of “because of gorbachev, we have pizza hut!”
I tried to play this after it unlocked at midnight last night but it kept timing out and saying it couldn’t find enough players to join a match, which seems unlikely. This happened with the demo from a couple weeks ago too, though I got into one (1) match there finally.
Hope this doesn’t have anything to do with me playing on my “secondary” Switch.
I’m split between thinking “the bow is kinda garbage and has the same issues as any weapon that requires charging even with the increased mobility” and “the bow is insane if you can see the code and constantly hit hotboxes perfectly and your team is actually running interference”
ready for “Hanzo main” memes to rip through the Splatoon community
i’m pretty sure i’m dogshit compared to anyone actually good at the game but i have quickly reached the plateau where i’m better than the scrubs and damn it’s pretty fun to run the tables in turf war
Every time my team gets completely dominated in Turf War there’s a bow player on my team, but I’ve also experienced getting locked down really effectively by a single skilled user. It feels like a high skill floor weapon with a lot of potential, maybe not in sheer frags but certainly in zoning.
