I will say that I had zero interest in the FF VII Remake and XV has almost single-handedly convinced me to give it a shot.

I couldn’t help but be curious about FF7R (and I’d had it preordered for a while), but my expectations were pretty low and I was half-expecting to hate it. But then I played FFXV and got legit hype for it.

I ran through these three DLC episodes recently:

• Episode Gladiolus: I found this pretty forgettable, though it was fun to pick up a column to use as a weapon the first couple times. Some nice scenery.
• Episode Prompto: The melodrama was a little tiresome for me, though some of the action parts were okay.
• Episode Ignis: This one takes place during the showdown in Altissia. The new mechanics are fun and Ignis is my favorite character in the first place. If you’re going to play just one of these three, this is definitely the one to choose. Nice set pieces and you get to find out how Ignis went blind.

I had planned to try the co-op DLC thing with a friend at some point, but apparently it’s strictly random matchmaking so I probably won’t bother.

I’m curious to know whether Episode Ardyn is worth trying before I uninstall this game that’s taking up half my disk space. I’d actually have to buy it, since it didn’t come with the game like the others did.
