This is a heavily cut version of John Carpenter’s sci-fi horror film The Thing from 1982. It is included in the Blu-Ray Collectors Edition of The Thing. I have no idea if it’s been released before but it’s the first time I’ve seen it. It contains new scenes as well as new musical cues and sound effects compared to the original cut.

It’s so weird. The editing is (obviously) choppy because so much has to be cut for time. Some scenes only make sense because we’ve seen the full length versions of those scenes.
