She was like the one character not originally designed to also be a toy right? They didn’t make one of her way back when because they figured kids would say yuck to a girl toy right?

yeah that’s arcee’s history, she didnt get a transforming figure until like, 2004

Losing a small amount of money to learn the lesson of not spending less than $70 on a toy. Decided it was too hard to find a DF Figurarts Rescue figure, so I settled for the $20 Marvel Legends figure you can buy at a Target like a chump instead of from a specialty store that smells like the mold giving up.

I will say one good thing about it: that the design gives enough movement to the torso and head to do a proper flying pose. Which would be great if I didn’t feel the awful plastic grate itself down by moving the joints. Also one shoulder and maybe both feet are just glued in place.

that’s a shame, i had a friend who’d buy a marvel legends figure every week in the early 00s, and they always seemed great quality back then. but i think they’re made by a different company now.

(i think he’s since sold them all for a huge profit)

I only have two Spider-Men and a Carnage from the Marvel Legends lines but they’re pretty nice for $20 mass market figures. But that’s the thing about mass market, is the quality is sometimes a dice roll. Whether it’s the joints or the plastic or the paint job sometimes you’re just unlucky.

I started buying the TMNT figures from Super7’s Utlimates line. So far I just have Shredder and Raphael but I have a Leonardo in the mail on the way.

They’re 7 inch figures based on the original Play Mates line. They look great and are pretty poseable but I can tell the joints will get loose and floppy if I continue to mess with them and I don’t know if I can re-tighten them since they’ve hid the pegs so well.

They each came with a bunch of accessories that I’m keeping put up in the packaging unless I want to use it for a display. These are probably my favorite Turtles toys right now. I’m going to try and get all of them eventually. There’s 8 figures out right now with 8 more announced to come over the course of this year.

Leonardo came and I figured out that one of the sets of hands Raphael came with was specifically made so that he could hold the sai blades like this.

Also if they ever make Krang’s Android body it will be monstrously huge. Like 9"-10" tall at least.

Then they throw a curve ball and release Krang+body but it’s the huge mode and it’s 6 feet tall.

Yoo these all look so damn good. Hoping they get a real good Usagi Yojimbo at some point

Yeah and give him swappable armor pieces so he can be Space Usagi as well.

an usagi cartoon was announced not long ago, so maybe in a couple of years he’ll have his own toyline

also sorry for this moment of pedantry but the character himself is named miyamoto usagi

Super7 announced Wave 5 of TMNT Ultimates a couple days ago. It’s a hell of a lineup. Sewer Samurai Leo, Krang with his walker, Ray Fillet and Leatherhead.

I love that they’re focusing so much on the weirder side characters.

So now they’ve got the whole 1988 line either already released or on the way. That’s the four Turtles, April, Splinter, Shredder, the Foot Soldier, Bebop and Rocksteady. With what’s released or announced they’re about halfway through the 1989 line. So far for that one they’ve got Krang, Baxter Stockman, Leatherhead, Metalhead, and Casey Jones leaving Ace Duck, Ghengis Frog, Usagi Yojimbo, General Traag and the Rat King in reserve for a future wave. I would love to see all of those get this treatment.

As for the 1990 line Mutagen Man came out in their first wave. Mondo Gecko is coming in wave 3. Muckman & Joe Eyeball will be part of wave 4. Ray Fillet is coming with wave 5. That leaves Panda Khan, Pizzaface, Fugitoid, Napoleon Bonafrog, Slash, Scumbug, Triceraton and Wingnut & Screwloose. All of those would make awesome additions but the one’s I’ve got my fingers crossed for are Fugitoid, Slash and the Triceraton.

That they’re doing Sewer Samurai Leo is exciting because he was from the Disguised Turtles subseries from 1990, which means they’re definitely going to dip into the other lines outside of the main series. Maybe we’ll see the Neutrinos eventually or true side characters like Irma, Vernon or Burne. Though I hope if they do end up doing those last three they wait until after they’ve already done all the cooler characters.
