Yeah I’m gonna buy this
Shit I should be earning commission
After months of being in early access Sex Chess is finally out.
When I watched this trailer earlier I kept going “this looks neat but there’s something just a bit off about it” until about halfway through when I went “of course, there’s no fog and I can see well into the distance.” Note I’m not complaining about this, limited draw distance isn’t something I need to see preserved, but it’s funny things that’ll jump out at you.
Oh baby
Sex Chess is an Easter game
I’m happy they get to work more in this setting but I really hope this plays differently. Everything about Control was great except its combat.
Well what I really hope is that they don’t listen to this guy ^^^
Control had Remedy’s most sturdy and impactful combat basics - one of the best implementation of pistols and small guns with some really smart spaces to use them in, and considered and interesting back-and-forths and quick escapes.
I think the expanded powers, the unique Quantum Break/Control flair on top of Remedy’s consistent light arms game, are a little weak next to bullet time and flashlight spotting; the rock throw competed with the guns more directly than it should have and I’d like to see it have a more distinct role, like breaking through environment objects. I think the flying wasn’t metered super well and I’d push it towards a more point-to-point transition, with more strict duration and defined recovery, as enemies close in on combat locations, and more directed “you must leave the ground” and “you must leave the air” moments.
A meditative and relaxing one-button fishing game. (DEMO OUT NOW)
This reflection effect is really nice and make the world look a lot more solid than similar ink-paintings-as-cutouts I’ve seen in the past few years.
big deal i won like 23 years ago.
flashlight spotting;
sicko shit, I can’t believe anyone enjoys playing Alan Wake
kingdom of loathing guy is cancelled right?..

trying to infer a pattern of your taste – do you generally dislike shield breaking/stagger as an action game mechanic?
I think remedy’s ability designs are secretly about giving the player time to breathe on command so they can ratchet up hectic encounter design
This addresses basically everything I dislike about the combat experience in Control. I find the game so frustrating and, when it’s not frustrating, just unsatisfying and I remember thinking maybe the game shouldn’t have had guns in it at all.
No I think Sekiro is a perfect video game
Alan Wake’s approach doesn’t give me options or flexibility, which is one of the few things I value in AA/AAA action games. The flashlight is just make-work to stretch out encounters, essentially a mandatory QTE for every fight.
