The best reviews of this game basically say, “This is, somehow, exactly the game that would have been released 17 years ago. And that’s kind of miraculous. That doesn’t make it good, but does that even matter?”
I just adore the fact that Shenmue is significantly older now than the time period that Shenmue exists to be nostalgic for, in respect to Shenmue.
And that somehow… game design really hasn’t changed that much, except to get a little less awkward?

i agree with aderack though, it doesnt matter what i think! shenmue will keep going despite all of us, despite every review. shenmue will always be shenmue and theres nothing we can do about it

Shenmue is the best game about a dude who doesn’t know how to deal with his emotions. Also about how you need the people around you, which it specifically goes about showing by having Ryo reject everyone around him.

so what’s the deal with shenmue 3, select button. it’s on sale at epic and I got a $10 off coupon thing too, decisions must be made.
It’s been sitting on my mantle for like 2 months because getting through the kowloon section of Shenmue 2 is something I gotta get my brain in the right place for, and it is not there most times.

No rush to play a Shenmue game. It took me 15+ years to beat Shenmue 2.

Shenmue 3 is pretty bad.
Maybe y’all like games about collecting [food] to refill your [health] that is constantly depleting so then you have to do flash banner games to get stronger so you can fail for the 5th time at a worse than Virtua Fighter 1 battle system.
