I am always amazed at how the megadrive moonwalker and the arcade one are so different. This bothered lil booji to no end.

but what if i told you there was a beat em up with an even stronger theme of girls being friends?

the main characters of futari wa precure max heart: danzen! ds de precure chikara o awasete dai battle are so inseperable, even if you play single player, you have a cpu-controlled partner

they fight together

they do special moves together

they even catch each other when they’re knocked down

though it has the opposite problem to the sailor moon arcade game, in that it’s far too easy, it’s still a fun and cute little game

Bad Boys for life

All my favorites are in this thread, fancy that.

My half-sarcastic observation about beat ‘em ups is that they’re ultimate patriarchy-dismantling genre since nearly all of them focus on infiltrating boys’ clubs and kicking the shit out of their members

This game rips hard. Real cool juggles and parries (maybe only the big dude can parry I’ve only played as him so far) and explosions and hitstop. Fun and good. There’s some weird bouncing tit and bulging vulv, otherwise looks sweet beat up some bad cats meow. Perfectly solid. Best feeling beatemup since Sengoku 3 bye.

I measured the 1x window @ 355x200 but run at 360x200, all the filtering can be disabled (or modified to taste if you’re on LCD, you’ve got a couple options each for screen curve, blur, scanlines, bloom, saturation) via ingame settings.

Final Fight 30th Anniversary Edition is a modification to Final Fight World, ffight.zip in mame, that enhances the game in the following ways:

  • Three Players
  • Selectable Palettes
  • Unlocked Character Selection
  • More Health for Enemies/Bosses with three players
  • Uncensored Intro / No Region Warning

Every system in the game has been reworked to support three players and enhancements that would improve this experience have been implemented.

It is compatible with real CPS1 hardware through use of a B-21 C-Board for player three input.

Is there a version of this that allows for the Double Impact soundtrack?

That’s right, Koji Ogata, who worked for Technos and was involved since the very first Double Dragon game for the arcades, is going to do new enemy sprites for the game! He’s not gonna work for free, though, so support from the fans is needed. Mr. Ogata is tackling Abobo first (the most iconic enemy missing from Super Double Dragon) if enough funds are reached he might even do more enemies.

Seems incredibly good.

I played Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl. Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl is a newly-released Jay and Silent Bob videogame inspired by the halcyon days of Technos beat 'em ups.

Look, honestly, if it was maybe 15% better it would be worth playing. Charming looking enough. Could-be-fun Double Dragon 1 + Kunio smash-up. Brutally simplistic enemy AI and clunky-inputs render it into a chore.

But also, somehow, there is another possibly-vaporware Kunio-nodding Jay and Silent Bob beat 'em up video game also maybe currently in development by I guess? the same people, entitled Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch that features High Definition Jay and Silent Bob Graphics and probably all the antics + hijinks you remember from their classic adventures.
