2D Beat 'em Ups that aren't Streets of Rage et al

Far as I can tell, this is Digital Eclipse’s second iteration on beltscrollers? Their first was Reign of Apocalypse on GBA.

The lineage feels most visible to me in the exagerrated cartoon animations of the sprites, I’m wondering if they share artists at all.

New Guard Crush sounds like the sequel to Boyfriend Dungeon

i said it on bisky, but i’ll repeat it here: sor4 being an rpg was my big fear when it was announced, so it’s sad to see this as the follow up

if this is, mechanically, just a light extension of SoR4’s survival mode, I won’t be worried

I think the issue with leveling and stuff comes if it grinds the game down to a halt or is not easily accessible

anyway don’t forget to buy Phantom Breaker Battlegrounds Ultimate thisnext month

Aren’t the Dynamite Deka games distinct enough from Die Hard to be re-released?

Truly a sick sad world it be

i think the problem isn’t the die hard association, but sega’s bizarre reluctance to rerelease any of their arcade games

A thing that makes me come back to the yakuza games besides my fetish for checking boxes and detailed japanese cities to stare at is that they are for some reason the vehicle Sega chose to rerelease a lot of their 90s-era arcade games. There is an Amusement Vision (now RGG Studio) games bias so i don’t know how likely dynamite deka is to show up in one of these, but they have gotten up to Model 3 board based games now in Pirate Yakuza. The PS2 Sega Ages disc is a good version with a lot of extras as they typically handled those releases and a 3D remake of Periscope, one of their early electromechanical arcade games.

i can only assume they got the rights for sword of sodan free with something else they were buying

surely no-one would pick that up on purpose

you should probably be playing the original Amiga version of Sodan in 2025 instead of the MD port

I guess there’s an argument to be made for Sodan but what are the Samurai games doing in here? also giving Piko Interactive money?

the game equivalent of those “10 movie classics on one dvd!” deals that still litter bargain bins wherever physical media is sold. admirable.
