Wake up every day and ride a train to a dig site. Use a pickaxe to carve up monumental statues and get the shiny coal. The statues aren’t doing anyone any good, anymore. Cart your coal back to town.
Carry the coal to the generator. It’s empty. Begin running on the treadmill to generate a paltry amount of electricity. None of the other perfect strangers in your town have bothered to maintain it; each is waiting for someone else to do the work they don’t like. There is no work anyone wants to do.
Maybe you can make headway by entering the store? Spend real money to upgrade the town. But you can’t maintain it yourself. Can you trust the other strangers to maintain what you built?
No. Everything will fall apart and your achievements and town will crumble. You will quit and you will drift away.
Maybe your failed town will be discovered by another train, maybe some other peasant will find it and excavate something of value, maybe they can get something out of burning it.
