Specifically, they named like, 3 characters after places in Orange County: Laguna, Irvine, and [Aya] Brea.
I made a name generator that I was calling the Squaresoft Late 90s Character Name Generator that creates a name out of two random California cities since there’s a million of them, but they all wound up sounding more like Las Vegas scumbags than Squaresoft characters. I think I need to mix in random names and words instead of just using cities.

Yeah – it doesn’t seem to really like to cycle through the whole dictionary, though, so it might be worth refreshing every so often if you’re getting the same handful of names. I never saw “Firebaugh” even though that would be a wicked surname. I also added some unincorporated communities.
ETA: Because I needed more names that sound like first names, I broke apart some names, so “Emeryville” became “Emery” and “Loma Linda” became “Linda”, etc. Tracy is just Tracy, though.

on the other hand, i did just watch the new god of war trailer. im not really interested in this series for any other reason but i feel like they have done a good job of making characters with kind of interesting looking faces at least. got to give credit where it’s due.

With a bit more time to chew on it, this ruling seems too pro-Apple. They plopped themselves down at an extreme end of the Overton window and the judge nibbled away at the most indefensible details while leaving the rest untouched. It seems to have been their legal/policy strategy from the beginning for it to play out like this, similar to how Amazon viewed not charging sales tax as a temporary advantage and didn’t complain too hard when they were finally forced to.
