Wait is there some way to play Flow without motion controls because I certainly couldn’t find one and wondered the whole time “How The Hell Does Anyone Like This?”
I’m pretty sure I recall just playing it with analog stick controls
Since I got a gaming laptop with RPCS3 I’ve really been enjoying After Burner Climax, Drakengard 3 and DARK AWAKE: THE KING HAS NO NAME
So a little bit about this game’s history: If I remember correctly, Dark Awake was in development by Eolith before they started work on KOF2001. This was basically their passion project and may well be the most Korean fighting game ever when you consider it’s literally Warcraft meets KOF. In fact the pre-rendered sprites remind me of old Blizzard games specifically. Dark Awake was actually the original name and those were the original designs of Sandra and Ramda, but Taito suggested changing the title and the two main character designs to better appeal to a Japanese audience. It IS weird they changed all of that back for the home release though but I love that both design types are available.
I also have Railfan Taiwan (in English!), Godzilla, Demon’s Souls, and Time & Eternity on deck, games I will all surely enjoy. I guess I have Yakuza dead souls and MGS4 on here too
I was also disappointed by and deleted a bunch of games already.
I figured out how to map PS move pointer controls to mouse for lightgun games (not as easy as it sounds), but there seems to be no way to play HOTD4 since you gotta shake the accelerometer to reload. Maybe they will add that soon since they have been patching RPCS3 every 6 goddamn hours lately. At least I can play “The Big 3”…
TIL Itagaki died
Noby Noby Boy uses motion controls for camera movement, which is of relative absolute importance.
Anyone here recommended Folklore yet? It’s not astounding, but I found it to be really cool.
i think i used this theme most of the time i owned one so i always think of gwyndolin chilling in their little room when i think of the ps3
For somebody who already owns a copy of Lair, is it worth playing without a Sixaxis? Is it worth playing at all…?
First post lol.
i got Lair coming today maybe! I tried multiple copies on my 20GB Japanese model and it never worked! We’ll see if it works on my super slim!
A fully updated Lair defaults to analog controls off.
Lair is such a good concept.
Lair made me realize there is a pattern of Dragon Games on PS3 that Run Poorly:
Lair
Drakengard 3
Dragon’s Dogma
add your own!
I think it is worth playing, at least until you get bored with it. It is definitely better with analog sticks. It also gets kind of hard and frustrating later on, so that may be where you want to bail.
I never followed up on this. I have grabbed the PS1 saves which was easy. The PS2 saves were buried in the game folders. They are some stupid format and I seem to be the only person in history who wants to use them on a MemCardPro2. I did find how to do it but it required so much command line and 3 different iffy programs I decided I didn’t care that much.
Also I made a post in GYPT but Lair runs like shit, but because of the Six Axis controls it reigns in Factor 5’s worst mission design tendencies. It kind of plays itself, which okay, because Facto 5 missions SUCK.
I thought it had a lot of spectacle and had a good time with it. You have to use motion controls though, even with analog controls. The tutorial prompts will be on screen for a second and then you’ll just have to remember that stupid button combination/six axis movement for the rest of the game.
as someone who did this recently this is the right decision
