Bravewave didn’t track her down for one of their albums? Seems like something they’d do.
couldnt find anything, rly no credits past the 80s besides ‘original arrangement by:’ for the older stuff, some places credit her with Sony/Re2 stuff but that appears 2 be untrue . no clue
damn i didn’t know people felt so meh on makaimura… the stage 1 tune is indeed great, one of the most iconic from any videogame, but the game is every bit its equal. they are married and they love each other.
personally one of my favorite arcade games. only maybe Flicky and Outrun are in the same tier
yes… 3 amazing games imo
This is one of those games that is so tied to my childhood that it is impossible for me to ever properly evaluate it, but I think very fondly of it.
I’ve gone back to the PS3. I of course immediately forgot how the hacked stuff worked. I also can’t find my folder for hacked stuff. Good job me.
I left my self a little surprise months ago. When I put it away my main PS3 controller had started going absolutely nuts. 3 youtube videos later this is probably because of a foam strip on a transparent ribbon cable disentigrating. That is right above my pay grade. I am still haunted by a friend taking apart a ps3 controller and the triggers immediately flying across the room and being unable to get it back together.
Will I go back to FXIII-2 now? Spend an evening with Dead Space? Just grab my ps2-1 saves so I can put them on the memcardpro2 and mister? Well, certainly the last one.
I was gonna say “well at least there’s a new controller with all the functionality of the Dual Shock 3 now” but…they skimped on gyro controls? What the hell.
No idea if it’s any good, but having analog buttons is at least a step in the right direction for third party controllers.
Edit: OK, this is why I was confused, they Kickstarted a new one that does have motion controls.
which ps3 games absolutely need motion controls I forgot
the only one i know is lair
There really aren’t many. The motion controls were bolted onto a lot of things (like walking balance beams in the Uncharted games), but I don’t know if the games even check for them to be there, as the functions could be done just fine without them.
I guess there might be some PS Move games, but those already had their own controllers and also not a lot of those anyone really wants to play at this point, I think.
the only ps move game I played was sports friends / js joust
I’d like to see a port or “remaster” of Child of Eden on a modern platform. (It supported but didn’t require the Move controls.)
When it first came out I didn’t care much for it because it didn’t look or sound enough like Rez for me (live action video and songs with vocals) but I think now I could see it as its own thing and enjoy it more. I do remember some pretty impressive scenes.
Maybe it’s sad that I feel more inclined (at least hypothetically) to buy the game again than dig my PS3 out of the closet. (To be fair, said PS3 is in a stack of heavy boxes.)
If only they had thought of Astro Bot during the PS3. Gosh just think of what could have been. They would have made a real motion controlled game I bet.
did some research on this. only focusing on Sixaxis for now, might look at PS Move later. this is unverified info but should mostly be accurate.
allegedly, these PS3 games ‘require’ Sixaxis support to some degree (varies in importance):
- Ar Tonelico Qoga
- Beyond: Two Souls
- Flower
- Folklore
- The Godfather: The Don’s Edition
- Heavy Rain
- Killzone 2
- The Last of Us
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
- No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise
- Puppeteer
- Rag Doll Kung-Fu
- Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
- Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
- Super Rub ‘a’ Dub
these games use it for important functions, but you can use alternative controls (some got patches for this later on after release):
- Deadly Premonition
- Heavenly Sword
- Journey
- Killzone 3
- Lair
- Siren: Blood Curse (needs confirmation this is optional)
- Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
errata:
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, and Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate apparently allow you to “shake the female characters’ bossoms using Sixaxis”
- Batman: Arkham Asylum optionally allows you to control batarangs with Sixaxis.
- Grand Theft Auto 5 lets you control aircraft with it.
I should try Child of Eden out again. I think the “it’s not Rez, even while it has the same story as Rez” was offputting at the time, but it’s been long enough that I think I wouldn’t care as much.
RIP Itagaki, ya perv (mostly derogatory).
he didn’t work on any of those games besides the original ninja gaiden 2 that sigma is based on!!
it’s also post-itagaki doa that started having the 80000 swimsuit dlcs and features that let you watch the girls sweat in battle or whatever. he wanted us to play volleyball…not fall into the gacha hell of venus vacation
Fair enough. I wonder how he felt about that addition.
itagaki arguing with guys on his own facebook telling him to be optimistic about doa6 10 years ago is so awesome. HE WAS RIGHT. THERE WAS NO REASON TO BE OPTIMISTIC
Was this why he was killed!?
Also I believe Child of Eden is lost to some music licensing hell based on Spotify availability.
