There’s definitely something to that feeling since apparently he got his start making music with this PS1 game:
Gimme more music-making tools that let me move a dolphin around to edit stuff rather than just a boring grid…

so often you post a song and i just imagine you moving/driving very fast to it
awwww that’s so flattering, thanks ![]()
i’d love to say ‘no waaay, i’m much too old and anxious and sensible’ and that’s mostly true, however … fully aware of the odd scale of reference that we germanz use, meaning that when i want to say ‘well i am mostly going slow these days’, thinking of 80-90mph, which is not slow at all.
there’s music to go slow to, and first album that comes to mind:
this video slaps ass and ive never seen it before wtf. i should listen to true stories more (and also watch the movie sometime, again wtf im a fake talking heads fan ._.)
i want a chocolate david byrne
True Stories (the movie) rules!! One of my all-time favourite comfort movies and not just cuz I like Talking Heads!
it’s genuinely nuts that i haven’t watched it yet cuz ive been a Talking Heads fan since like high school and a movie where John Goodman sings TH songs and David Byrne monologues to me about highways while wearing a stetson feels like a thing i could’ve dreamed. im just terrible about sitting my butt down to watch films lol. it’s probably an attention span thing
Yeah, my attention can be hard to corral too so I feel like I know where you’re coming from… Luckily the film itself has a bit of a wandering perspective to it as well, sorta perfect for putting on in the background while you’re doing something else and then, before you know it, you’ve found yourself sucked in anyway! I’d recommend giving it a whirl!!
pretend youre watching a visual album, and david byrne is guiding you from song to song in his (rented) automobile
The comments on this are what sent me over the edge. I have no real affinity for the USSR or the USA but it’s hard to watch the closest thing I know to a living dream die
