unfathomably cursed
I still think it’s absolutely buck-wild that Leyland Kirby went viral. I hope he made some money out of it.
i hadn’t heard of him until youtube recommended me the boulder, but yeah it feels like the sort of thing i would ordinarily never come across outside a Headphone Commute write-up
it’s genuinely bewildering that it went viral among youtube teens years after it came out framed as some sort of cursed and demonic creepypasta object with otherworldly powers, like it was just this sort of benignly conceptual ambient album popular on the middle of the road indie music blogs i used to read in high school a decade ago
i mean i found that album pretty terrifying
yeah i think “total dissolution of personal identity” is a pretty terrifying fate so i get why folks would get caught up in a record like that. particularly when the Meme Challenge is marathon listening to 6 LPs of frequently unsettling music
especially younger folks who probably aren’t as familiar with the way memory slips away from everyone with time
i cannot stand the caretaker records, but i did once see him singing u2 at karaoke.
Digging through my bookmarks and unearthed gold
After the wars of the Bush administration the biggest crime of the early 2000s was that Grand Buffet didn’t blow up.
I once saw, if I am remembering correctly, a show that was Gravy Train, Grand Buffet, and Wesley Willis.
That 2001 wesley willis tour was my first exposure. A total life changing event!
If I recall correctly Jackson breaks down traveling with Wesley Willis and experiencing 9/11 with him on the road here: https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/7rZxPrVvUKsvWd5Y8
Remember when the Barenaked Ladies were so popular that even Digimon had its own One Week knock off?
if you link to the german OST, make sure to link to this hot trakkk here as well:
because it actually rocks (like, seriously).
I needed this
this is just the version i found on youtube. the one i listen to has a faster pitch for some reason but i think there’s more than one version of the song.
