I was watching that Roseanne halloween marathon, and they showed an outtake during the credits for one of the episodes where John Goodman pulls up the fake halloween stump arm and says something like, “Stump the Band?” – I’m not sure if that’s what he actually said, it’s hard to make out, but it reminded me that I haven’t listened to any Stump in a while.

This is probably their most conventional song – both in lyrics and sound. I love the bass.

Here’s a live version with a really bad mix – the vocals and drums are right up in your face and John Nise Reily’s bass is barely audible.

This is probably my second favorite Stump song.

Here’s their song about American tourists. It’s a very grating song, but that’s the point.

Every band should have a song about a movie, and Stump is no exception. Here’s their musical recollection of The Ten Commandments.

i think my fav one from that album is “fancy claps” but yeah good album that i had only heard assorted tracks from until recently. the guy who wrote we built another world is very active on twitter and has a Patreon now and also follows me for some reason, lol. recently i felt like i should go back and listen to more of their music partially because of that and it’s still good!

anyway:
