Finally listened to The Tree of Clues today, and have not been able to stop. Upset that I didn’t listen to it earlier. What an insane fucking album that was made for me specifically. I don’t know how the fuck there is an album in this world that features both Injury Reserve (rip Groggs) and Craig Owens on it, but here we fucking are

I for one am here for the late 90s/early oughts Bay Sound renaissance.

Been listening to this album. Thanks.

Fuck yeah

Still one of my favorite bands. Been following Jason Lytle since the band split. Heard they re-formed recently though, looks like there’s a new album:

Grandaddy reformed in 2012, made a number of live appearances and released its fifth studio album, Last Place , in March 2017

Anyways here’s another one I love:

I need to listen to more Laurie Anderson. What little I’ve heard has an obsession with repetition, and slight rearrangement of words, and the spaces between words, and sparseness. And in a way it reminds me of “what if david lynch wasn’t doing horror”, words being used as pleasing sounds where the meaning becomes both obscured and sharpened by the strangeness, but not so…creepy.

Anyway, good song

I love that about her. She teases out a bunch of meanings with just one line. Like that song, “It takes/ it takes one/ it takes one two/ it takes one to know one.” So delightful. And she can be so weirdly cinematic despite being sparse and repetitive.

600 years ago hieronymus bosch wrote the song you hear when you’re playing a crpg and you visit the town that has been ravaged by unspeakable evil but the surviving citizens are still trying to get by in the world and sell you their meagre offerings, and he painted it on the ass of some guy in hell

I didn’t see any mega - kitschy kpop ballads around here lately, what’s wrong with this place?*

*: the answer is: nothing, and this is normally a song that should belong in a @Persona axe-dark-secrets-topic, but it just got stuck in my head this morning in the shower, and i had to get it out of the system, so dealwithit.gif
