YO! Noid II

i was starting to work on my D&D post when someone in a discord linked this video:

YOOo there’s a YO Noid II made by fans?? there’s some obnoxious memery going on here but the fact that its like really this genuine late 90’s collectathon platformer is fantastic. it’s like everything the arcane kids want to make but are too afraid to

Wow did they even redo the music? It sounds great.

I would play this.

I beat this yesterday. It was fucking goood. Smooth as butter control, good levels, catchy tunes, it was aesthetic, the only thing I didn’t like was the last boss. This is reall really well amde and im probably gonna play it again

Oh my god this looks amazing.

holy shit the Noid Void

all games need a dab button from now on. please and thank you

at the beginning of this video the player addresses chat by positing that maybe some of them hadn’t, in fact, played the original yo noid game in a way that understood the rationality of this possibility but couldn’t quite manage to hide their incredulity at such a frankly preposterous reality, and I just want to say that this glimpse into a world where familiarity with a 27 year old licensed video game staring a defunct pizza mascot is more or less assumed is one of the few things that still makes the internet age worth it.

In case anyone was wondering why The Noid disappeared from all Dominos marketing: https://www.fastcodesign.com/3032911/kidnapping-death-pizza-how-dominos-lost-its-mascot

Though I guess he showed up briefly in a Facebook thing or some shit a few years back.

Me and a buddy played through this last night and it’s a pretty wild ride. The dab button is amazing and you can do it at almost any point (even in dialog boxes)! The platforming can be a little fiddly at times, but it works pretty well for the most part. Cool game!
