It was ffvii rebirth
I donât remember if I posted about fata morgana before. I wasnât too crazy about it, but itâs hard to quit a visual novel when you paid 39.99 for it. Most of my playtime was Nov-Dec of last year.
I played most of the story mode levels in mario maker before I started up my nintendo online subscription again and besides 1 or 2 levels it was absolutely miserable. Just everything you could put in a mario level that I hate, back to back. When I did finally get online I found other peopleâs levels to be sort of depressing in a different way. Just bad times all around!
I wonder how many of those 101 hours were spent looking for cave entrances. Not enough to find the sphinx apparentlyâŚ
This game refuses to die from my year in review, it was super high last year too. Itâs some kind of bug I think. As you can see I beat it in February, so ainât no way I spent 28 hours in less than 2 months.
Guess what game I like to play whenever Iâm stoned also as we can see from Yakuza, 15% isnât the highest percentile, itâs not a made up number, so if 7hrs = 15% that means thereâs quite a lot of ridge racer 6 happening in the world these daysâŚ
My personal GotY is the PS3 version of Demonâs Souls, played in RPCS3 with mods and ReShadeâs LumaSharpen shader. Woo!
Runner-up is Pac-Man Championship Edition, the NES demake made by Japanese retro game port hobbyist coke0774 and polished by M2, from Namco Museum Archives Vol. 1 ^ _^
Honorable mentions to VF3tb, VF5FS, Angbandâspecifically the DOS-VGA-style version I compiled for Windows and put on archive.orgâPac-Man, Darkstalkers 3, SSF2X, Tetris, Dragonâs Lair, and Space Ace, all of which I got back into this year. ^ _^ And PS3 SSX, which so far seems really coooool haha see what I did thereâbut no actually pretty chill. ; D
In a year in which I tried and mostly failed to get myself into platformers and shmups, others that stand out in my memory are save-spammed play-throughs of Gun Frontier, NES Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2, Ghosts 'n Goblins, Ghouls 'n Ghosts (those last two played in Capcom Arcade Stadium on PC but if I was gonna do it again Iâd play them in Capcom Generation: Dai 2 Shuu Makai to Kishi on PS1 in DuckStation where I could use actual save states from hotkeys which would go a lot faster than having to go through Stadiumâs save menu each time ; D), and various Gradius and Darius games, especially the horribly scrolling Gradius games and offshoots in the Konami Antiques MSX collections for PS1.
Oh yeah also to all the Sonic games and fan games I tried this year, including

Also tried and failed to get myself into wrestling games, probably coming closest with Fire Pro Wrestling World for PC.
This was also my year for REALLY getting into game dumping/ripping/extracting and emulating, so thanks Sanni Cart Readerâparticularly the NGPC and PCE HuCard custom add-on boards I got/had made for it, game-extraction-toolbox, RED-Project, Mednafen, Mesen, DuckStation, Mupen64Plus, Flycast, PCSX2, RPCS3, MAME, and the various tools I used for jailbreaking my PS3. I spent WAY too much money on old games so 2025 is going to be about eBaying a lot of games I donât play anymore, including probably a big chunk of my PCE collection. ; D
Steam is probably a somewhat small percentage of my game time so Iâm not pasting my Steam Replay in here, but it is public at Site Error
Pretty much all my gaming hours could be added up from the 400+ videos I put out on YT this year but uhhh I shouldnât take the time to add those up. I THINK Ds1 probably wins at about 73 hours for the playthrough.
Super shout-out to the DualSense controller I got this year (for use in Windows), which pretty much solved all my controller-related ergonomic problems. = D

Zoo Keeper
Helll yeah Zoo keeper.
Wish I had a game tracker for emulators. Maybe I can rig a launch box plugin or something
I should specify thatâs the old PC flash game âZoo Keeperâ
later become ZOOO on GBA, PS2, mobile, etc. Actually I did play the old arcade âZoo Keeperâ in Taito Legends for PS2 this year as well
which seems like a really fun game but I couldnât hang with it due to the screen flashing FX.
zoo keeper was also an early ds release as zoo keeper
That one was handy for having an English translation of the Quest mode. ^ _^
ahh ok
Zoo Keeper arcade is a horror game.
Those animals want to kill.
i started to write something a couple of times. maybe next year
canât resist to ask:
whatâs
Luta 2D
2D Fighters Iâd guess.
aaaahhh⌠thatâs⌠kinda disappointing. Was hoping for looting 2D or something wild!
I donât have anything that tracks my gaming time.
If I was to guess my most played games
I barely played anything in 2024.
I was very depressed for a portion of the year and didnât use my steam deck enough to generate enough stats
it has some of the loudest most in your face sound effects too its one of the best games ever for it
i played skyrim for the first time, and x-men origins wolverine uncaged edition, and alien isolation, and replayed half-life 2 with the new developer commentary
all-in-all pretty regrettable. hoping to start off 2025 with the harebrained schemes shadowrun trilogy
yeah, what vodselbt said. its my â unfortunately brief â stint with street fighter 6
Thatâs right
excluding game night games (unless we beat them) really did play some all-timer new favs in 2024
