does that grid cartographer emulator integration work well?
Holy Shit!
EDIT: Oh no!
not Prudence!
There should be an option to Just Vibe during this encounter
this is how undertale got made
Yeah I’ll play this game one of these days. It just seems too impenetrable even for a certified video game freak like me. What I need is what those Japanese gamers had in the early 80s, some kind of PC hobby magazine filled with anime girls explaining the game to me.
I skipped to the 10th level and got ambushed/wiped by some dragons
bleeb
like if you’d help bleeb
Been thinking about bleeb. When the calls for help go unanswered:
Has anyone played NIZ? It’s a j wizardry clone for web and iOS. It is very polished and the aesthetic is really growing on me. White vector art over painted backgrounds.
This game is still very good
is there a breakdown on what makes a Wizardry type of rpg a Wizardry RPG as oppose to a generic first person dojonkrawl? I never got into Wizardry back in the day because of its rep as the scary hard game but I played hecka Bard’s Tale and Might and Magic games.
I think some of the staples are
- first person grid dungeons
- large party size
- full party character creation
- emphasis on one or few large dungeons where all combat and exploration take place
though later wizardry games diverged from this formula, I mostly focus on the “classic” style of the first three chapters
one notable difference between might and magic and wizardry is wizardry (at least in its earlier forms) has all management and town activities take place in text menus, whereas might and magic has the towns as integrated parts of the navigable world
There’s also adherence to the classic format, with:
- D&D races
- for classes: warrior / mage / cleric / thief, with additional dual classes
- tiered spells with separate resource pools for each tier like in D&D and FF1
Etc
Elminage and the J-Wizardry all follow these rules
thinking about playing wizardry 1 instead of doing any work
how’s that ps1 version?
Any version of the first scenarios is going to be functionally identical to the NES release with minor balance tweaks but the same map and items
basically if you like the PS1 graphics then yes
a friend made this niche meme while discussing atlus’ ps2 wiz titles
