Got anything interesting lurking in your lists of games you’re lurking on?
I’d totally forgotten about this one–which apparently was originally listed as coming 2020 and hasn’t had a peep in years soooo this may be all that’s ever seen of it:
Hey, Lorn’s Lure actually has a release date now and it is only three and a half weeks away.
Unfortunately I tried the demo (which is from a near release build) and it has some rather bad screen tearing which based on the steam forums the dev might not have a great grasp on (their solution of v sync only working with the FPS set to unlimited is both odd and not helping) which is a concerning sign.
I liked this game’s demo, several years ago. Episode 1 has been on my wish list for quite a while. That’s still in development but they are putting out some kind of shorter chapter in a week or two.
Generally my wishlist is stuff i see on sale and think “this is interesting but theres no way I have the patience to play it rn” & also, not unrelated, i think im generally addicted to 7/10 games
anyways, recent stuff on there
Last Days of Lazarus
Seems like a chill adventure game with a slightly spooky vibe and a collab between two romanian studios w/ a heavy emphasis on Romanian culture/setting (per some of their copy). The shiny 3d poser models + oblivion style environments put me off.
Guardian of Lore
Bit noisy but I like the 2d + 3d model look of this, the digital painting stuff is reminiscent of like hidden object games to me (complimentary). Recovering/playing through indigenous Latin American myths is a cool hook but i get the sense the game will not feel particularly good to press button in & upgrade tree implies might be a bit overlong if thats the case.
Murder on the Marine Express
I like the idea of unabashedly ripping off a beloved book for ur visual novel & then filling it with retro pc pixely art. Not the first to do it & ppl seem to say the English translation is clunky (devs native language is Spanish) but i do like the pixely art
IDEA
Fun concept, you bounce a little icon around fmv environments filmed from above under a time constraint, either taking a path to its conclusion & getting an ending (art?) or, if ur too slow, typing a note for others that shows up where u ran out of time. I like that one of the reviews say its too difficult, thats intriguing to me
