Star Fox Zero: me on this very forum mentioned the controls are unplayably bad. I remember nothing!
Yoshi’s Wooly World: i tracked down and still have the yarn yoshi amiibo. I may have bought a big box and sold the new copy of the game without playing it? I have vague memories of this.
Twilight Princess: I played the gamecube version at some point. I remember the world’s layout makes no sense. There is a yeti. The opening takes way way too long. I’ve heard they significantly shortened the opening. I intend to play 5 hours. I think someone said the yeti dungeon is cool. My feelings upon beating was “Good I never have to play that again.” That was like 20 years ago that was a different person.
Kirby Curse: SB1 loved that DS game. I fell into that hole. I am not sure I did like it or just thought it was neat. Might as well try the sequel.
Xenoblade X: hi @boojiboy7 , I have only very briefly played Chronicles 1 on wii and found it had a lot of stuff. I hear this game also has a lot of stuff. The preview videos for the new version impressed me with how the world looks. I’ve got a friend or two that tells me this game is sicko. I figure I’ll give it a little bit see if I can be that sicko.
I’ll also probably play the first 4 hours of Wind Waker (the best part) again because it is The Best Part.
Hell yeah, be sure to scan like, every other amiibo you have too because there’s a ton of costumes you can unlock.
From what I’ve been told the Wii U version ends on a cliffhanger and the Switch one actually ties up the loose ends, so if you’re not one of those “play the game twice” people you might want to skip this one and go with the Switch port.
I got to 4:41 in Twilight Princess. The level design is bad. Everything is upsetting to look at (for better and worse.) it did get slightly better when I realized I could skip cutscenes. I’ve managed to get Epona back and collect the vessels or the hats or whatever who knows. Actively unpleasant game. As @AutomaticTiger said to me, took all the wrong lessons from Wind Waker.
Also the Wii U Gamepad loses battery extremely quickly, old electronics. The Wii U Pro controller is actively unpleasant to use. I keep using the right analog and then my thumb is at the wrong “rest” position on the face buttons.
Thread I’ve played a truly disgusting amount of Xenoblade Chronicles X in the last 4 days. This definitely means i am in a depression spiral. I could have been playing Breath of the Wild.
The game looks great. I’ve played it for uhh… A DAY. not sure I’ve done anything. Still no Mechs. Think I am on track for the “you get mechs at 30 hours.”
I got the mechs and I saw @lonelyfrontier play the switch version for like 20 minutes. I think these two things (and stablizing hormones) broke the spell of the game to me. Maybe time to get off the smooth ride.
Star Fox Zero is better now than it was then. We’re all more familar with motion aimming. It truly really wants you to use the gamepad. There are no settings to make it quiet room friendly. You gotta have the characters talking out of your controller. Truly hostile elements. And the game is just Star Fox 64 AGAIN.
Kirby And The Rainbow Curse truly beautiful artwork. It’s Canvas Curse but on the gamepad instead of the DS. I could see me playing it with the kid around. The kid would not be able to handle the game. I can barely handle the game. I don’t think I like drawing lines then yelling at Kirby to do what I want. Beautiful though.
Yoshi’s Wooly World great art. This is a damning combination if Yoshi’s Island and Yoshi’s Story. You do have stages with goals. I’m not sure who on Earth finds YoshStory’s Yoshi’s pleasant to listen to. Both this and Story feel like games for preschoolers and yet are too mechanically weird for a preschooler to play. You can’t tongue down. I had a middle class family and an n64 at the right time I played Yoshi’s Story. This is Story with Island’s collectibles. I don’t want to listen to Yoshi Yips any more they are playing in my head!
Good lord is that it? Guess I should put in my Mario Maker disc and maybe play the default courses. Rodea the sky soldier? Play Xenoblade for another 50 hours?
