I want to watch a road movie but I only want to watch, specifically one road movie and im wanting to let Select Button decide how I am going to spend my time. here is an overview of the night:
the ‘MEAL’ will consist of muenster covered oven-baked chicken covered in a valentine and sriracha glaze drizzled with butter and an entire tub of cottage cheese
I will have 1 (1x) ‘FRIEND’ to accompany me on this viewing who has pretty low brow tastes in cinema, all things considered
Probably my favorite genre of movies is post-apocalyptic road trip movies, where a group has to get from one location to the next in a super-dangerous perversion of places we normally associate as being safe.
28 Days Later probably does this the best, as it’s equal parts fun and horrifying, but Children of Men is the better movie of the two (if darker and less humorous).
children of men really is phenomenal and the direction is something else (it felt like it accomplished everything cuaron ever wanted to do and subsequently more or less ended his career, same as happened to charlie kaufman) but I don’t think of it as a road movie necessarily
