Ok I give up on the onebox embed, it’s some oldhammer squats

Excited for Darktide. I want to learn how to play and get really into Total War Warhammer 2. That sounds delightful.
Goals.

Said it before but that Space Marine 2 trailer comes dangerously close to misunderstanding everything that made the narrative of the first game cool, I hope they don’t blow it

As I understand it, Titus has now been in service for an additional two centuries on top of his last two and the chains on his arms denote he’s effectively had to work to prove himself as not a Chaos conspirator under what amounts to a religiously-fanatic, even by Space Marine standards, penal service. I have little doubt the Inquisition and Chaos are going to crop up in-game. Definitely here for Tyranids as antagonists over Orks, who I’ve always found tedious.

i like these pointy helmets

seriously though how are they still having footsoldiers in the future, wouldn’t they just nuke whole planets and be done

i appreciate this is too much thinking about warhammer at all

I mean, they often do.

is there anything in the lore that explains why they do anything else? after what is it nearly 40 years of content i gotta believe one of their writers snuck a satisfyingly convoluted detail in there

Probably, I don’t know enough about that. In Space Marine, the reason was the whole planet was vital military manufacturing.

Because they aren’t just killing stuff, they’re protecting resources. They do in fact just nuke planets if the cost/loss ratio seems bad.

Also the imperium is objectively wrong about everything and the entirety under the command of people who are huge murderous idiots
