on the other hand, i overheard an 11 year old boy in a class i was covering (the substitute teacher shortage is real) mocking his friend for not playing GBA games “natively” in a GBA emulator and instead playing them on a DS emulator
made me think about how nathan drake’s shirt gets only a lil wet or totally soaked depending on how deep he wades in water but makeup in naughty dog games is perfectly waterproof
the way she covers her ears when she gets sound attacked is so dorky I always say OWWW MY EARS in a nerd voice when it happens. does she ever say it? it’s one of those videogame things I’ll say out loud a lot while doing dishes or something
talked yesterday with an old lover about how i was literally Gameing before i could read… the way my parents even noticed how i could was they saw that i was reading the text in the games i played. this was in the context of how she explained she never got the knack of controlling a 3d camera cause her parents hated games whereas i was playing my parents childhood copy of super mario 2 on the nes alongside them earlier than my earliest memories. its fucking crazy to think about this stuff… my mom was 12 when that game came out
Yeah I vaguely recall it as like a 99 floor pseudo roguelike thing. It’s not very fun
EDIT: It’s not literally post-game, that’s like 2020s vidgamer language being retroactively applied. Of course when you beat Parasite Eve it’s over the end. It’s an optional dungeon.
Thanks for clarification, i still have to give PE a spin sometime, so when/if that happens, got to check that out at least for checking out the architecture
