videogame things you think about a lot (Part 1)

in 2007 treasure made a licensed bleach ds game called dark souls

like the links ssays, it also had a sequel, and i fondly remember that sequel.

someone in my class at college had it, and it allowed 4 player versus with the full character roster with just one cartridge.

it seems to have been glossed over in the history of the ds what a great system it was for multiplayer. everyone had one, and most games had multiplayer with just one cartridge. i played a lot of bleach ds 2nd, bomberman, mario kart, and lunar knights. i think other than playing death tank zwei on saturn a couple of times, ds bomberman and mario kart were the only games i’ve played with more than four players at once

good times~

How strange it is that there used to be a freeware version of The Suffering that was sponsored by United States Air Force. Or, maybe freeware isn’t the right word. It was supported with ads for the Air Force and you can no longer play it, I hear, because the ad service is no longer running. Would be funny to see a crack made for the ad supported version lol

Bleach Dark Souls is the 2nd game. The 3rd Bleach DS game is in a different genre and is not made by Treasure.

ohhh, so they didn’t release the first one in the west? 2nd was the one we played, and iirc, the first was also a treasure fighting game

When watching videogame protagonists in action, I often think about how I am much lazier, less violent, more afraid of death, how I have less strength and stamina etc.

Frankly after killing 1 kobold I’d probably rest at home for 2 weeks minimum before going back to the cave

in her voiceover monologue at the beginning of advent children, marlene says “[. . .] all the fighting, all the greed and sadness, everything was washed away. sadness was the price to see it end.” and i always think about the elliptical grammar of that phrase. sadness was the price to see it [sadness?] end. great movie

How “Turn-Based Racing” is the cleverest game title I’ve ever seen in my life and I’m so upset I wasn’t the one who came up with it

How being able to speak only by throwing down “Hello!” and “Very good!” carvings is like being stuck in traffic and trying to communicate with the car horn
