iirc the Sonic Adventure dubs were done with little knowledge of the context of the scene and no way to see what was actually happening onscreen at the time (like several game dubs of the era; see also Resident Evil 1). same way that localizations were done basically from a contextless script dump
I want to agree but Jagged Alliance 2 was done by union actors and has some of the best voice acting of all time
FromSoft style voice acting still the GOAT (specific UK/Irish regional dialects where they do a creepy laugh every other line)
when i cough or sneeze really loud it often sounds like Banjo taking damage and then I mentally run through the entire B-K voice sample catalogue. also, vocally
YUH-OH!! WHOOOOOOAAAAAAAAA OWWwwugh
AWURK!! err-uhh-err-uhh-err-uhh-err-uhh BREEE~
What do the horadrim talk about around the campfire before the player chooses a character class in Diablo 2
Is the Pac-Man was originally called “Puck Man” but they changed it because people could scratch the P and make it say “Fuck Man” story actually true, or is it apocryphal?
Are there any contemporary photos of a “Puck Man” cabinet? The only cabinets I’ve ever seen that say “Puck Man” are obvious repros.
after watching a bunch of like S Rank Elite Level Pro Gameplay recorded by grandpas in 2004 last night i’m thinking about how it’s great that like Legendary Old Man Gameing is about methodically spamming a bunch of powerful moves over and over again.
Yeah dawg there are tons of Puck-man stuff you can find.
Believe the Gigo Retro arcade has a Puck-man machine.
Namco-Bandai is selling a repro of the original Puckman poster.
I’m suing for the use of my likeness
Dunno if this is still a feature but I always liked that Madden let you challenge plays, like the computer just cheats some of the time so you can successfully argue with it .
I used to love running the original (dos?) simcity on every new computer bc the fastest speed was cpu bound so each time it would just go faster and faster.
Kinda wish I could see it now
I was reading the PacMan: Birth of an Icon book this afternoon, and the amount of textile merchandise is mind blowing. Even more than that, some of it actually looked good. There was a pac man romper that looked genuinely cute, white with pastel maze designs printed on it and embroidered fruits. Real neat stuff, not worth vintage prices though
USA beach towns have unusually broad arcade selections. I’m in York right now and they’ve got every Cruis’n, Rush, and Thunder. They also have Jaleco’s Arm Champs II but it’s out of order.
the “this key is useless now. discard?” prompt in resident evil
