Main thing I think of about Gex is that time I was browsing SB and my mother offered me a bowl of ice cream, and as I turned around to accept it I saw she had a sort of perplexed/concerned frown on her face, and when I turned back to my screen I saw the big “GEX HAS BEEN SUCKED” banner front and center

a theoretical spoilt child of a yuppie in the early 90s. dad’s an easily impressed early adopter, so the first two consoles this kid gets are the cd-i and the 3do.
everyone at school should be impressed with these advanced consoles that none of them can afford, but for some reason, none of them are.

The CD-i is conceivably entirely dog shit but I don’t know, I think I’d have been impressed with PO’ed. Though I suppose it’s also on Playstation in a more or less imperceptibly worse version.

i also think the 3do is a somewhat underrated console. it’s big problem is that it came out too early, and the year between it and the saturn and playstation really made a big difference.
there’s a lot of interesting indie/artsy stuff that came out for it thanks to its low licensing cost for publishers, especially in japan.
