Triggerman (Gamecube) and Bullworth (Movie) have the same poster.
out of its specific context, but with the wider context of knowing what adventures theyāve already had at this point, the text box looks like aeris is trying to get cloud to dress up again
so do forgotten Halo killer HAZE and that one black mirror episode
I thought of this bit again while reading the courtroom scene in The Merchant of Venice which I swear to god is exactly like an Ace Attorney case: the judge is an impostor, the legal principles are clearly made up on the fly and by the end, the plaintiff somehow winds up getting convicted instead
I have no beef, mostly, with Roguelite games or games that have those elements in them.
BUT, if you have the word Rogue in your gameās title I am going to assume a certain level of derivativeness.
(This post brought to you by the YouTube thumbnail of a game trailer for Roguebound Pirates, which is an awful title)
i know āgames expensive no manualā isnāt a hot take, but buying cds really drives the point home
That one time my workmate told me she didnāt play video games cause they were āeither for kids or about shooting peopleā.
She forgot the other kind, the ones that are about cars.
but Cars is very much made for kids
and you can shoot for gaps in cars
Canāt think of any good examples that are ādespite looking like itās for kids, itās actually about shooting peopleā or ādespite looking like itās about shooting people, itās for kidsā that isnāt really obvious like Fortnite or Roblox
Splatoon
Back in the day I think Call of Duty had this rep.
Is this two layers of replacing the text in a comic. Does this really expect me to remember what the first replacement was, in addition to the original comic. Something something Baudrillard
L right now
Probably some day soon, āclosed worldā and ālevel-basedā will be buzzwords that are used to advertise games once people get sick of open worlds and Metroidvanias being the only kind of new game to exist.
Nothing drove home the why of games becoming so much more expensive quite as much as the credits sequence for that suicide squad game
Which should I tell myself to play and inevitably put back down? Chrono Trigger on my PC or Final Fantasy VI on the Switch 2?
Probably FF6 if youāre worried about quitting midway through. There are a couple of severe pacing/motivation drops in Chrono Triggerās story. Particularly when it sends you for no reason to the ruined future where even all the NPCs are demoralized
They donāt send you to the ruined future for āno reason.ā Itās to show you what will happen if you donāt see things through!!
Iāve done like 6 hours of each game on multiple occasions. I feel like I want to play FF6 first though, but Iām moody and tomorrow itāll be Chrono Trigger.
