VIDEOBALL

SUCKAS

I feel obliged to mention somewhere that me and HVIPER played some games and he defos got the better of the results. Was a bit scared of playing 1v1s 'cause I generally prefer being in a team, but it was ace as Videoball always is. And no lag even though we’re on opposite sides of the country : )

all vballers come to WA so i can lay waste to ye scrubs

oh man, I wanna play you guys. how difficult is setting up wine/ running vball through wine?

I don’t think I did anything special, though I didn’t have sound which was a pain. So I’ve only been playing in Windows. I’m not very WINE experienced, so there’s probably a way to fix that.

I guess that was also pre me having a 360 controller too.

I think I just downloaded Steam in WINE?

If I have to restart after this Windows Update is done (I probably will lol) I’ll have another go at it!

yeah just install the most recent wine staging and run steam.exe

hi! i’m just a creepy lurker here and you’re all probably in the discord but i’ll post this anyway. I’m trying to get a tournament going, nothing serious, just an excuse to get some consistent matches :·P

don’t, uh, actually go to the forum because there’s nothing there (yet). we are discussing the rules on discord.

that is all.

so I’ve got videoball working on mac via wine, does anyone have tips on how to get a dualshock 4 working with it?

not that particular OS + hardware combination I’m afraid

wine and non-360 gamepads can be a nonstarter

so, this tourney is going to be like the first intenational tourney for any moba

except instead of Koreans, it’ll be meauxdal and WickedCestus

you gotta get shrekt in order to realize how much work is still to be done

Are you also running Steam in Wine? You might be able to use the Steam DS4 support.

oh no, I just sold both my 360 pads :expressionless:

does dualshock 3 stand a chance?

definitely not more than 4

wine doesn’t support big picture mode unfortunately, which is necessary for the native dualshock 4 stuff

so is re-buying a 360 pad my best course of action?

someone test doing local multi over moonlight/gamestream with me tonight
http://moonlight-stream.com/
yea?

maybe borrow one first, I don’t think I’ve tried to use a gamepad in OSX wine maybe ever

borrowing first would be sensible.

@The_Blueberry_Hill did you manage to get controllers working?

As tim helped me discover Xbone controllers are 25 bucks on ebay.

aren’t those knockoffs though??? I wouldn’t trust the bluetooth in a knockoff, and only the new models even support generic bluetooth connections, which is one of the better features
