I honestly think season one of the Punisher show is a better run at the same material, probably because at least it knows it’s from comic books.
our downstairs neighbors (“the banshee boys”) had a subscription to this and then they moved out and i guess forgot to cancel it so now we get a bag of this dogshit every month or so

I binge watched the 90’s sitcom Townies
Having the lead be three women works well.
The supporting cast works.
Will and Grace star Eric McCormack plays a boyfriend for a few episodes.
Billy Burr gets a few good comedic lines occassionally.
It was very much a 90’s sitcom
but I enjoyed it for what it was.

For All Mankind has been pretty weak this season.
It sounds insane to say but I do not give a fuck about Mars, it’s just the desert, but red. There’s nothing interesting to do there.
With the moon, everything in zero G was absolutely gripping and the very limited resources made for some real genuine tension. On Mars, I dunno, they have tons of resources, they find water pretty quickly, and there’s almost nothing dangerous about being outside.
The character drama is also getting very soapey, with people cheating on other people and acting irrationally… it just kind of starts to highlight how this isn’t how the crew of a big important space mission would act.
The good stuff is still the big space disasters and the big engineering projects:

i felt like i heard so much good stuff about this current season, so got all caught up and it’s just been bad.
everyone is so thinly spread out, none of their shit is ever really interacting. mars is just less interesting than the moon. and both stevens kids suck in a way that makes them causing drama just annoying.
it seems like the writers are at least somewhat aware as every episode now seems to have some big sci fi space action scene that was previously withheld for a season finale.
also the way the scale of earth stuff has expanded (helios) reminds me of like the wire season 5. where the idea of the newsroom stuff is good, but it’s all spread out too much to ever be insightful in any way. it ends up just a boring mixed metaphor for apple and elon musk and privatisation.
