I hope nic is able to get every individual streaming service to give him the money to make a new show that gets everyone involved fired once the bosses see it and is then immediately buried without a word
gonna be really impressed if this hits as hard as his last one. one of the best shows of the last decade, but not sure if i can see him landing it a second time round.
learned that at home with amy sedaris has a third season but fucken trutv has seemingly delisted it and other sources are spotty. what a crime. thereās a columbo episode! three years ago!
I have it ofc
Randomly started watching Letterkenny and Iām having a great time
Itās 2023 and Iām watching Mad Men for the first time. I love watching people be terrible to each other, so Iām really into it.
Ah man! Just started rewatching it in the background as noise for chores. I really like that show. Isnāt Pete Campbell such a doofus? Kills me
edit-
Pete Campbell may be the most detestable little weasel-faced fuck in the history of television. Brilliantly written and performed character.
yeah heās just a straight up horrible character early on, itās almost funny
Theyāre all lil shitheads. Think Kinsey might be the least shittiest, but heās also pretty insufferable at times.
In the end Pete is the best character
Iām a Ginzo person. I really like the scene where he and Peggy are working very late and he tells her that heās an alien, Iāve watched just that scene about 10 times.
I adore Don, as a fellow successful cipher. wonderful character
I tried watching the Wednesday show. It just kinda bugs me so far. Freaks vs ānormiesā setups just make me feel like someoneās entire deal is that they experienced some sort of tragic mockery at the hands of peers when they were a high school freshman. I want to like it, but I fear thatās just nostalgia gripping me.
Also, I relate to the main character but only as a distillation of the sort of insufferable I was as a youth and which I hope that I no longer am.
i feel like wednesday doesnāt work. as soon as you put her in the school where everyone is weird she just becomes incredibly boring
A really great time. Oh no itās going to change the way I speak
I think Copenhagen Cowboy is my favorite thing Refn has done. not as glacially paced as Too Old to Die Young either, even though I loved that too. What a great fashion show gangster fairytale. What a shame thereās no way this is getting a second season. I donāt know how he keeps getting people to give him money to make these things but I hope it keeps happening
the refn universe is collapsing in on itself
almost done rewatching all of at home with amy sedaris
it was a perfect vehicle for her ā actual practical entertaining and crafting presented as messy vĆ©ritĆ© clashing with surreal pee weeās playhouse characters and camp pastiche. winking with one eye, winning a staring contest with the other
as materialist as a satirical homemaking show by a famous personality can be ā fictionalized amy as an envious and tyrannical boss herself nearly insolvent and keeping up appearances
righteously, confrontationally feminist. featuring maybe the worst pun drag name iāve ever heard while never crossing the line
a perfect television program if you spent your teens malingering with HGTV and strangers with candy on in the background
the best thing a24 ever funded, at any rate
Copenhagen Cowboy is a fun watch so far; very slow and lots of colored lights.
been rewatching Seinfeld (again) as my wife had never really seen it. she likes George the most, so far.
this time around, iām really noticing how often Seinfeldās character is focused on being a Boomer Hero, āsticking itā to those damned service industry folks with all their rules and policies. go get those minimum wagers, Seinfeld.
not a huge von trier fan but giving riget exodus a shot and itās surprisingly hilarious. the original was funny but not this consistently.
