sudo swapoff and edit the swap line out of /etc/mtab. removing the partition is annoying but doable in 10-15 minutes
comment out the swap partition line in /etc/fstab, reboot (or swapoff -a as root)
you won’t get the disk space back but who cares
?
isn’t that just a symlink to /proc/mounts?
yes, you’re right, I’m an idiot and opened the wrong file
Yeah, I just went ahead and preordered one. My OG Pixel XL is starting to really act annoying lately. Maybe a factory reset would be enough to remedy that but at I’m ready for an upgrade anyway. I should have jumped on a super-cheap 3a earlier this year but I was holding out. Luckily the 4a isn’t much more expensive.
Has the 3a ever dipped below its $400 MSRP? The 4a was announced to be $350 like a month ago. The 4a is so cheap you can get it from Best Buy for $300 (and at least for Verizon a $40 activation fee because lol who is going to BB anymore).
At least through Google Fi it was $300 for a while I think
I’m considering getting attachable lenses (Moment? RhinoShield??) for my incoming “flagship quality camera” phone. Has anyone used attachable lenses or cared in any serious capacity about mobile photography. Would this be better in the QQ thread?
Could probably talk about this in the photography thread. I’ve toyed with the idea of doing more serious attachable lens. I have a few little clip on ones, namely a macro lens that’s basically just a magnifying glass. Beastgrip is brand I’ve looked at too
Ordered an iPad pro for script supervisor work. First time owning a modern apple product. It will get here in a month.
I’m thinking about getting one of these too. It’s basically between the 4a and waiting a year. the problem with waiting a year is I don’t want a phone bigger than 5.8 inches and every year there are fewer and fewer of those
intel’s marketing has been all they’ve had for the past several years, these recent stories doing the rounds trying to get people hyped up for their vaporware GPU are really embarrassing
and the early 2Ks AMD nerd/troll in me, watching that picture, puts a checkmark in the ‘finally sinking that battleship’ checkbox, and all it took was…
- a Phenom X4 965 BE + R380 OC
- a Ryzen 7 1800X + VEGA 64
- an Athlon 200GE,… and that was the nail in the coffin!!!
Why did i waste so much money on the top-range products, when the cheapest could have done the trick
also, totally do not remind me of my thinkpad T450s that is still doing its job and has the workers class-enemy inside, nor the machine for my dad that is actually not an AMD and… let’s call it a truce, shall we, it’s nice that everyone has his niche and we’re better for it, right?
Right?..

AMD’s 4000 series is coming this fall, right? I’m thinking about putting together a desktop and I’d like it to be iGPU + expandable
also I am liking mini-DTX lately
https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/cases/mini-itx/masterbox-nr200/
that’s a lot cheaper than a Dan A4 and it can hold a second GPU
Last I read it’s tricky - the APUs/mobile chips are coming out first, and the APUs will initially be only for commercial builders. No word on the 4600/4700 getting a date.
Out of curiosity:
i7-8700k @ 4.7ghz
A13
The $400 iPhone has better single-threaded performance than an 8700k with a Noctua U12S in an ATX case.
I’m still gunning for the Louqe Ghost but I’m worried that a top-hat with a radiator wouldn’t be happy in a luggage
respect to you lot building in these tiny itx cases honestly, even with a nice matx case and a modular psu my shit is a mess
