PROMISE WEBRING
i finally have a barebones site skeleton. its missing like. a bunch of stuff that it’ll need eventually but i just needed to finally get bones on the air. one day i’ll have fun with this thing
I got very tired of bluesky so I made a blog using @VastleCania 's guide but I bought my own username domain (without a dash it would be, like, $4k)
coming back to website making, wondering if anyone has used those fancy static site generators like Hugo gohugo.io or Eleventy http://www.11ty.dev
leaning towards hugo bc all the example use cases look cleaner and nicer. zonelets is a lot of fuss
ok i’m using this tutorial
I’ve been using publii for my blog and while it kinda works I have to use a single computer, because the site’s files live on my computer. I can’t make a post from another computer unless I archive and load the whole site onto it. The workaround is to put the site files in a dropbox folder but i haven’t done that yet.
could you just host on neocities?
i’ve posted a post. hugo → neocities, i can write everything in a text editor*, run one shortcut and boom it’s on neocities. so cool !!
*text editor is vscodium.org

also, check out this unbelievable website
I had issues with Publii after I switched from Windows to Linux (the app works, but I just have a hard time navigating the faux Windows file structure…I could probably do it now that I’ve messed with more stuff, or I could just run it on the Windows partition on my laptop…), but it’s not bad.
Honestly I just kinda threw in the towel and made a blog using https://bearblog.dev/. Just using the free tier, and hosting lower quality pics on my NeoCities account.
I should update it some day…
