The Playstation Vita Means Playstation Life

so it looks like sony may have actually removed them from their server

this is definitely not great - it means zRIF reverse engineering will almost certainly need to be in the cards for even the existing pkg’s for PSM that aren’t yet playable to ever have a hope of being so

all of the PSM packages and licenses that were known to exist were backed up on psmreborn, so it doesn’t look like any existing content is lost, just the possibility of acquiring additional licenses from Sony

@loki , if you want to restore the ability to acquire PSM games directly through pkgj, use the .tsv file here: https://psmreborn.com/
which redirects the PSM links in NPS/pkgj to psmreborn.com

I am watching a lovely My Life In Gaming livestream where they play some Vita Games. They pretty much yelled at the audience to hack your Vita RIGHT NOW so you can use a SD2Vita Memory Card before your Vita Memory Card fails.

I went “okay.” My Vita Memory Card still working. The hack took maybe 20 minutes. Then I very slowly used Vita Content Manager to back up my data to my PC think that took 3 hours from a 64GB card.

God the Vita OS is hostile. The folder structure is kept in RAM? The saves are locked to game files. Just horse shit.

Good news PS+ Vita games just work on a hacked Vita. PSP PS+ games do not. @loki you maybe even say upthread how to get Mobile games working. I ended up just signing back into PSN so I could play Tuffy. Tuffy is still a pretty good prototype.

I’ll probably transfer everything to the SD2Vita once it gets here. Browsing the Free Store I marked these games:

A boy and his blob
Conga Master Go
Dead or alive xtreme 3
Ethan meteor hunter
Hatsuoki
Hatsune miku
I am setsuna
Limbo
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Playstation Staee Battle Royale
Ray gigant
Ratcher and clank
Ridge Racer
Severed
Sumioni
The house of fata morgana

One side effect of the SD2Vita is I can’t use actual Game Carts at the same time so will maybe have to grab downloadables of my meager Real Game Collection. Totally throwing off the reason you got real games for the vita (so they wouldn’t take up space on the memory card.)

Lovely video going over what a Vita Can Do.

So hey did anyone ever reverse engineer the mystery top port that turned out was meant for TV out so I don’t have to tell my Vita it’s a webcam to free it from the shackles of its (very nice OLED) display

If you have a 3G wireless capable vita there is a mod you can install that replaces the wireless module with a micro sd card slot. This way you don’t have to sacrifice the vita card slot. It doesn’t require soldering and isn’t too difficult to install. I bought a used 3g vita so I could do this. Not sure if it was worth it but I didn’t want to hack my main vita.

I also hacked a playstation tv, but for that one I use a usb stick for storage.

Luckily there really isn’t much for the vita so going from a 64GB to a 128GB.

I managed to transfer everything I think.

Have to redownload any Plus PSP/PS1 games.

Amazingly one trash game I was interested in only works on the last firmware (why???) and I’m not sure I care about jumping the hoops to make Conga Master Go! Work.
