i installed the eldritch port, which is cool. and psonescrot, which doesn’t seem to actually work
I’m so steamed my vita broke all those years ago
Does anyone want to buy my PSTV/Vita TV (NTSC region). I think my memory card got corrupted (word on the internet is they age badly and die fairly predictably). Attempts to format it all fail, and games won’t launch.
I was about to buy a third-party microSD card adapter but apparently they require custom firmware to actually work. That’s one extra step too many, especially when I’m not even sure how soon I’d get around to playing any of the games in my Vita library. I had hooked the console up to my new monitor on a whim to poke around and see what games I even had.
I have hardly any time to devote to gaming in the first place; hacking old game consoles is very much not a thing I’m going to spend my time on.
I could sell it on eBay probably but people are nuts and I don’t need more headaches. I’d rather sell it for less money to a Select Buttoneer. I have the console and the power cord, any other cables it came with have long been repurposed elsewhere in my home.
First dibs go to folks in the continental U.S. for ease of shipping.
I’m interested! DM price pls.
I can’t seem to DM you, the forum says you’re not accepting them! Maybe try DMing me first?
its under preferences > users if you need to turn DMS on or off
great list of PS1 games that can be played on PSP/Vita without major issue (e.g. R2/L2/R3/L3/Analog not required)
Are there many Vita Exclusives that haven’t been ported to other consoles that feasibly could? Only one off the top of my head is Muramasa Rebirth.
Isn’t Muramasa a Wii port?
The Vita version had a lot of extra content.
i’m going to largely elide the “feasibly could” bit because i mean, we got a port of the DS Crystal Chronicles to Wii and that thing didn’t even make sense so my range of “feasibly could” is quite malleable
Freedom Wars
Killzone: Mercenary
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
TxK (TxK > Tempest 4000)
Shinobido 2 is an exclusive and underrated
Phantasy Star Nova… exists. haven’t tried it personally
others:
Luminous Arc Infinity - haven’t played this one but it’s an exclusive
Silent Hill: Book of Memories - it’s not good, but it exists
Touch My Katamari - some unique stages. not great overall, tho
Super Stardust Delta - some unique content but you’re better off with Super Stardust Ultra on PS4
Crystal Bearers did that bad, huh?
Soul Sacrifice
Unit 13
Dynasty Warriors Next (has lame touchscreen stuff that could easily be cut)
Probably a bunch of small digital only games
I got Tempest 4000 on switch and it feels off. Is it this bad on every platform? If so, it definitely isn’t anywhere close to TxK.
I haven’t seen T4K on anything else but I cannot imagine it looking right without spending too much money on a display compared to seeing TxK on an OLED Vita, which gives off the vector display vibes (I mean, I know it’s still not the same even then, vector graphics on a CRT is like a blade cutting through your visual cortex, but the resolution of the Vita and the OLED they picked does it for me)
Why does T4000 feel off on the Switch?
I’ve barely touched it so I can’t really describe it in detail, but it just didn’t feel nearly as smooth. I’m not sure if it was frame rate, frame pacing, lag, or something else, but it felt bad to play. Never had that experience playing TxK on either my vita and vita/playstation tv.
can fanmade translation patches be used with real cartridge copies of games?
yes
it involves copying big files over ftp and takes ages
curious what method you are referring to
the only method i’m aware of is
…which doesn’t require FTP for anything, i don’t think?
- Install the plugin as any other kernel plugin, being sure to add it to the *KERNEL section of your config.txt.
- Create the folder ux0:rePatch
- Create a folder within the rePatch folder with the TITLE ID of the game you wish to patch.
- Place decrypted content within this TITLE ID folder. Exclude the sce_sys folder.
- You may delete overlapping files within the original patch folder or app folder to save space.
You should have 3 separate folders:
- An app folder for the original app. (Minus the ones that are being patched by rePatch)
- A patch folder to contain the official update/patch files. (Minus the ones that are being patched by rePatch)
- A rePatch folder which contains modified versions of files that were formally contained in app and patch
thinking more about this, i guess you are just referring to transferring the patch contents over?
yeah, you have to use ftp to transfer the patch contents over. i don’t know why you can’t do it via regular usb but i’m placing trust in the tutorials
