my problem with all of those early 90s terrible videogame movies (specifically street fighter and mortal kombat) is that they don’t ever use the superpowers until the very end due to a combination of budget and limited CGI technology, so you’re putting up with it up to that point going “uh, sure, that seems like dialog that ryu and ken might reasonably have, but I’m really in this for the hadoukens” and eventually liu kang gets off one fireball

also they’re pretty much all some variation on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Rex_(film) with less broader cultural import so they’re hard to talk about other than as a singular dumb videogame thing

SMB is better than the others though yeah
