…But since you’re here, you may be interested to know that the insertcredit forum is running its biennial poll for users’ top ten games. The person running it typed, and I quote “Let’s try to surpass 2023’s total of 129!” which feels like an invitation to bring in people who don’t usually post to add in votes. Now, said poster also happens to have a top ten list that I respect and Oiκοςpiel, Book I seems to be a dark horse rising in the ranks. Still, nobody has included Snood.
BTW, you may feel like I’m a traitor for joining such a place when I have a home here. Well, somebody made a really good run of posts about the Sega Saturn and I had to tell them thank you.

I always thought it was interesting how Russian women started talking about this very openly in the 2010s because he was using his university position to prey on basically anything with a pussy 16 and younger (this is how he met the aforementioned ex-wife, even!) but none of the people boosting Pathologic to an English speaking audience ever seemed to care about any of that. It wasn’t until like two years ago that people started to care because the twitter detectives got themselves all worked up about it all of a sudden despite being completely uninterested in his victims’ testimony for years

I don’t think westerners thought much at all about who made pathologic until the kidnapping, then they suddenly decided to pay attention. The rest of IPL didn’t help matters by being totally quiet on the matter until 2021 (when it finally came to the attention to english speakers)

I remember a handful of former devs talking about how he was a psycho before that but yeah it was mostly a open secret at the studio. but like there were tons of people on twitter and message boards and shit who would discuss the sick shit this guy was up to on a regular basis for a really long time leading up until 2021! really glad resetera is out there fighting hard for the rights of women clearly nothing escapes their watchful eye lol

Arcanum is really good but please be smarter than, uh, Chris Avellone, who manually walked through dozens of empty screens (when he wasn’t getting instagibbed by wolves) to get to the first town instead of using the world map designed for travel
