i take it back Mario is not a competition but it’s just as good
how dare they not upgrade it to run at 60fps
hard to interpret as anything other than an intentional slight

these are the people actually making the mario kart
i appreciate their proud and public support of peanut butter
The challenge levels were all I liked in Sunshine.
i like the beaches, idk
i want a metroid prime collection much more than this, that’s for god damn
2-3 hours of mario sunshine is enough
mario galaxy blew my mind at the time but revisiting it i was like “eh”
can’t remember 2 at all
I think it’s because it makes Nintendo too close to Disney and that’s making some people feel REAL CALLED OUT
I hope it’s only because they’re still figuring out multiplayer in 2d Super Mario.
Not a fan of the roulette, but I’m glad the coins will be useful for something.
I was gonna say that’ll be for Metroid’s 35th, but that’s gonna overlap with Zelda’s 35th…
Really though, if they release a Prime collection I want Hunters in it so I can try it without getting handcraps (but I know that won’t happen).
Why would you just execute me in public like this
what did i do to you
thanks for pointing that out
Just realized they are making it limited DURING A PANDEMIC WITH INCREDIBLE UNEMPLOYMENT RATES. So yeah get bent Nintendo.
As others have pointed out, it seems to indicate elsewhere that joycon are optional.
ok that’s good, looking forward to playing this on a pro controller
the limited sale window still sucks
This is my second reply, but I thought about this a bit more and was hoping someone would point to these particular elephants.
I wonder how Nintendo will react to camping I know nothing about splatoon btw. I AM totally for chilling in well designed single player areas, but I doubt it will translate to the multiplicity of possibility that the SMB series has always promised. Imo, Mario has been designed around disappointing the least amount of people since number 3
Also, routing. The speedrunning community embarrassing sincere Nintendo design is pretty funny, right? Not exactly, but anyway I feel like everyone is ignoring the more interesting discussion tbqh
Just responding to Splatoon, most game modes are designed so that camping doesn’t really get you anything. It can also severely hamper a team of 4 players spread out so thin. All 4 players can spawn camp but the spawn is usually very difficult to reach and maintain for the opposing team unless there’s a huge skill differential.
The objective of a given Splatoon match is almost always moving so there’s no real strategic reason to camp if both teams are competent.
I would also argue the game has enough going on that other strategies are more interesting.
No idea how they might do this for Mario unless they do levels that slowly auto-scroll to stop people just finding a haven and staying there.
From how you describe it, it sounds like more active thought was put into splatoon. This is why, as someone who would just naturally gobble this sort of shit, I would only expect this to be an experiment.
Which is at least a little interesting? I feel like this could be a stepping stone to something with more depth than we typically see in a Mario game. I’m really excited for this either way.
See I’m one of those people who thinks all those abstract levels where you’re sans-FLUDD are the best parts of the game, though I do generally find FLUDD very enjoyable to play with.
I’ve never properly played a Galaxy though so I don’t have a basis to compare.
To be fair I agree that the challenges are cool but they’re paced very strangely for a Mario game and it creates erratic spikes in difficulty. Also it just suggests they had little faith in the FLUDD as part of that challenge.
