Superheroes made by committee

So a while ago I challenged myself to create 100 superheroes to test something, not really sure what, but it was funny.

I just remembered this a few minutes ago and had the thought maybe posing this to others could be amusing. So I challenge you to make 100 of your own or if that’s too much effort just shoot a couple random ones here and there.

After they lost the Spark Juice™ license, Sunsoft reworked their Hydration Man game into a generic superhero.

These are great! Did you jot all of these down in like one really productive hour or was this something that was going on in the back of your brain for months?

I did it at work one day when I had downtime. I worked on it most of the day, but it probably took like maybe an hour and a half just counting the time I actually typed them

as an addition I also started making 100 supervillains, but I never finished that one

Here’s some more superheroes

  • The Spore: can sprout mushrooms anywhere
  • Prince Wheelie: a sentient motorcycle from a dimension where motor vehicles are people. Heir to the gasoline thrown
  • Santa’s Favorite Elf: the best elf in all the North Pole. Fights crime in off seasons
  • Scoops McGee: has poop scoops for hands
  • Brave Jimmy: very brave
  • Socrates: the actual Socrates, but he’s travelled through time to the modern day to fight crime
  • Slam Dunk: can sink any vaguely ball shaped object into any vaguely basket shaped object from any distance guaranteed. Is banned from the NBA
  • Silver Crescent: a caped crusader wielding very impractical crescent shaped weapons. Ex: the crescent gun, the crescent club, the crescent nunchucks
  • Halitosis Harry: has never brushed his teeth before
  • Fuse Box: knows the location of every fuse box in the universe

I got five:

Himbow Jimbow – Kind, dumb as rocks, and capable of murdering you from 20000 feet away without a second thought (with a bow, of course).

Turnstile Myles – Can only rotate his arms forwards, not backwards. Has developed an idiosyncratic martial arts system taking advantage of this fact.

Harry Jane – Grows marijuana from his hair follicles.

Pokey Porker – A pig so fat and so slow that people can’t resist looking at him. The perfect accomplice for any task that requires distracting security guards or creating a traffic jam.

Rent-a-Bog – Bog monster for hire. Very competitive hourly rates.

Imagining they get arrested a lot for growing marijuana

I like to imagine that he’s been thrown in jail a few times, but they throw him out just as quick when they realize they just put an infinite supply of drugs in prison.

The hardest thing for him to do is finding a dayjob, since he can’t pass a drug test. (Not that he particularly needs a dayjob…)

His arch-nemesis is The Stoner who can turn into solid rock whenever he gets high

The Crypt Keeper - has a collection of tombs, mausoleums, graves and vaults that he uses to fight crime

The Lube: can cause any person or object he touches to ignore friction

Asbestos Lad: is immune to the effects of asbestos, but produces asbestos from his pores.

Middle Click: gains incredible powers based on how many tabs are open on their magic laptop.

Trade Marcus: can apply a trademark to almost anything.

Hack Saw: can get into the files of any computer by cutting it in half with a saw.

Captain Folds: can perforate any paper or cardboard surface

The Penpallbearer: can make and send you a greeting card that upon reading will, without fail, make you cry

I’ve definitely under used “captain”. There’s a lot of good captains you could do

Technical Fowl: a turkey with all the powers of a referee

The Scientistist: Can sing The Scientist by Coldplay exceptionally well.
