Worst mass shooting in US History happened today at a prominent gay Florida nightclub. It’s amazing because this story hits so many hot buttons. Domestic terrorism, Muslim immigration, homosexual hatred, gun ownership and legality, assault rifles, Latino population, Florida gun laws, and right in the middle of the biggest circus of an election this country has ever seen. 2016’s viciousness is unrelenting.
This is a couple miles from me.
It was certainly fun going to breakfast and checking my phone to see the death toll double from 20+ to 50.
You could hardly craft a “better” incendiary news story for the American political cycle.

I didn’t really try hard to plot out my predictions of reactions to this tragedy, but I have to admit I’m a little surprised how quickly the dance between Trump and the media ramped up to “Trump is saying Obama is secretly a Muslim terrorist and we just need to write the right article to prove it to everybody”.
I hate to rewind time in the UK when the news is the murder of the MP, but I just saw this and found it amazing: the Bob Geldof/Nigel Garage grudge match on the Thames.
