finally watched this, i’m really torn bc on one hand the ‘finally the true nobility of the unfairly maligned and victimized viking raider will be revealed, in video game form’ is so ridiculous but on the other hand i have to give them my respect for making the british play the role of the brutish ogre-people

I liked how in the article the Ubisoft person was like “Yeah we present Alfred the Great as this kind of villain in the trailer but he’s more nuanced as a character as the game goes on because history etc.” and I can’t wait to see them thread the needle of weaving the history of Alfred uniting Britain against the Vikings with a bunch of ancient alien lost technology shit.
I’m calling it right now because it’s so obvious: They’re going to have Alfred the Great found the Templar Order.
