Meanwhile:
So Guerrilla is going bigger while Rockstar is scaling down. I wonder how much it has to do with changes in management practices vs. different development philosophies. I know bigger open world games rely a lot on procedural generation of basic content used to build out the world whereas Rockstarās thing is how hand-crafted all their games are which lets their worlds be more unique in a details-per-square-meter kind of way.
If you finish the game you learn that Zero Dawn is a thing, so it would be weird to keep it in a sequelās name after youāve moved past learning about it. But even though if you look at the logo you can tell Zero Dawn is a subtitle based on its placement and size, the gameās official name appears to be just Horizon Zero Dawn, with no separation. So thatās what everyone knows it as.
The problem with Horizon Zero Dawnās name is that itās a meaningless jumble of words already used endlessly in media titles, so if you change even one part of it itās suddenly not instantly recognizable as related to that game. I could easily assume itās some other random game, or a book at a grocery store.

Still, a GTAVI half as big as GTAV would be twice as big as a Horizon 2 thrice as big as Horizon 1

But would it? Like, just in terms of square kilometers or whatever. Iām pretty sure GTA is always smaller footprint-wise than like AssCreed or whatever the competition is.
Red Dead 2 is a different story but GTA V isnāt.
In terms of handmade assets, if not geographical size.

Oof itās not on Steam. Maybe Iāll finally break down and install the Epic Games Launcher. Iāve claimed so many free games via the web.
iām not a huge swery fan in general but i appreciate that nearly half of the features section is dedicated to describing the skateboarding mechanics
