I wonder if that company has guaranteed stock or if theyâre waiting with everyone else to buy it from retailers, so people who do this get it months late
I think the latter is how they generally work. They make after market mods to existing items to graft gold and stuff onto the device and re-sell it.

The subscription model for the Series S is less than getting Game Pass and Gold for 24 months and the console. I donât think itâs any more malicious than a cable box or modem rental, and itâs basically the default model for phones these days.

i mean, i guess at least they arenât charging interest, but they will report you to credit bureaus for late payments, the âupselling you after 18 monthsâ as a feature is creepy, and iâm sure there will be all kinds of stipulations about the condition the console needs to be in in order to trade it in to get the next model up once you graduate to the next tier

was thinking that you can still trade in a unit to like gamestop which for some reason people still do despite their terrible trade-in prices, but then i also realized that this is almost certainly partly in order to cut out retailers
yes, but iâm sure GameStop or whatever will have some kind of cross-promotional way to take advantage of it, so they will really just be cutting out independent retailers
also, locking your console payment and live/gamepass subscriptions to the same fixed payment prevents you from taking advantage of sales on the subscription services

Itâs a predatory business style but Microsoft has set a really good price for a Gamepass subscription box, Iâm surprised theyâre being this aggressive with it

Based on the time I forgot to return a rented modem Iâm pretty sure theyâll just charge you a fee. I canât imagine it is worth the labor cost to repo an Xbox.
(I sincerely canât tell if the repo situation is a joke?)
