The company was founded by Tim Sweeney as Potomac Computer Systems in 1991, originally located in his parents’ house in Potomac, Maryland.

Can’t believe they changed their name from the vastly superior Potomac Computer Systems to the super lame and generic Epic Games.

at least at first it was Epic Megagames

GAMECOCK

i saw what they did there, and it just made me think of spike tv level nonsense.

the solid white bar is pretty sleek, but i still think they should just do what dreamcast did:

Take up as little space as possible so you don’t taint the beauty of the box (art).

Some first-party PS4 games in the UK got rereleased with really nice minimal artwork (cardboard slipcover) I wouldn’t mind seeing more of

I really wish the physical releases would just go back to music CD case dimensions. Playstation games have been in a weird middle-ground between DVD and CD ever since PS3 and I don’t get why they stick with it. I feel like it would save a significant amount of plastic.

That’s exactly what I want! Just the plain logo up in the corner.

PS4 cases fucking blow. That center nub never holds the discs in.

I feel like the blue plastic clashes with the white and black but maybe that’s because the Spiderman cover has so much black itself.

They should have given it weird white curves on two ends with the cover art sandwiched in the middle to match the console’s weird shape.

I think there’s something psychological about the sizes of game cases that companies have got to think works more in their advantage than any plastic they’d save. Especially considering CD-sized cases are linked in people’s minds to, y’know, CDs, they want the heft and import that accompanies something the size of a small book/Blu-ray cases.

The most ridic are the Switch cases when I open one up and see all that blank space with only a little postage stamp at the bottom.

Switch cases are straight nonsense.

The psychology of case size is a marketing meeting I want to be in. To fit PS5 maybe they could just go full arrogant and have the disc come in a case twice the height of a DVD case but the same width.
